Workshop Leader: Southwest Writers at University of New Mexico Continuing Education
Dorinda Wegener will present From Pitch to Launch: Publicity Steps Authors Can Take to Maximize Book Exposure, a two hour workshop where participants will (1) generate a book abstract and elevator pitch, (2) discover what ‘successful’ Publicity means to them, and (3) an audience Q&A. A writer does not need to have a book in order to benefit from this event. Registration is required. This workshop will be in person and via Zoom.

Guest Speaker: Southwest Writers at University of New Mexico Continuing Education
Join Southwest Writers for their February Monthly Meeting where Dorinda Wegener will present Get it Together: Organizing a Submission Packet and/or Manuscript & Tips on Submitting It. Wegener’s presentation will cover how to organize a sub packet (individual packets or manuscript/anthology), where to submit, and guidelines on how best to achieve success. Poets in Pajamas Virtual Reading Series
Please join me as I am honored to be reading in this series from my debut poetry collection, Four Fields.
From the Pip Website:
Poets in Pajamas is a free, online reading series run through Facebook Live that connects readers and writers across the world from the comfort of their own pajamas. Readings take place twice per month at 7PM ET and can be found on our Facebook page.
The highlighted reader will read for about 15 minutes, then answer questions from the audience for around ten.
All you need to do to watch is simply visit our Facebook page to tune in. From there you will be able to interact with the readers in real time or watch the readings after.

2024 Get The Word Out Poetry Reading: Online, RSVP requested
Join Poets & Writers for a celebratory reading by the current poetry cohort of Get the Word Out, a publicity incubator for early-career authors. This special virtual event will also include remarks from publicist Morgan LaRocca, who, over the past twelve weeks, has mentored the group.
Get the Word Out was developed with funding from Leonard and Louise Riggio, with additional support from Macmillan Publishers.

Four Fields at Rooftop Summer Reading Series
River City Poets presents the Rooftop Summer Reading Series at the Byrdhouse atop The Graduate in Richmond, VA. Dorinda Wegener will read from Four Fields in a pre-release celebration and Joanna Lee, Richmond City’s Poet Laureate, will be the night’s features. Cocktail pairings to the poets will be available, as well as copies of Four Fields. June summer evenings are still hot and humid, so think summer finery.

Richmond Poetry Fest 2024 Reading
The 2nd Annual Richmond Poetry Fest was co-created by VisArts staff and a group of former and current writers-in-residence!
